    What a night!

Wow, last Fri has come and gone before I knew it. On Fri night of course MoMU organised Kenduri Merdeka 2007 - and it was smashing fun! Okay, so maybe the caterer was slow in replenishing the food for the buffet (Malaysians are ravenous wolves), but everyone still enjoyed themselves.

There's all the expected cam-whoring and chatter, but the dinner would have been a bit dull if not for the MoMU committee's bold, enthusiastic, and gutsy performances on stage. We put on a comedic skit of Malaysian history (I use the word 'history' very loosely) and 3 dances. Oh yeah, let's not forget the 4 talented singers who volunteered to serenade the crowd as well.

Here's some of the performances if you're interested (I know you are!):

After the whole thing was over, we went over to Isaac's place for poker. I lost early in our first round. Kai Yau later went on to actually get a royal flush! I've never seen anyone get one before in actual play, so that was really special. Too bad for Kai Yau he eventually lost as well. Come Round 2, I was on fire. Became the chip leader early and played aggressively and bullied the rest to their frustration. But to be fair, I was damn lucky when it mattered. Imagine going all in and finding out I'm the underdog, then turning the tables on people on the river card. I even managed to triple up once like this! In the end, it was a tense shoot-out between Erwin and I. There was one close call, but I won in the end! WOOHOO! My first time ever that I won all the way playing Texas Hold 'em!
